Build a Community Center
For years, residents have expressed a desire for a community center like those found in neighboring cities. I implemented an LLC, Friends of Burnsville Community Center, to kickstart conversations and plans. Research shows that community centers do far more than promote physical health.They create gathering spaces that strengthen connections, reduce loneliness, and bring together people of different ages, backgrounds, and incomes in an inclusive environment. They also support economic development by creating jobs, attracting complementary businesses, and increasing foot traffic for existing local establishments. I WILL PRIORITIZE THE EFFORT TO BUILD A COMMUNITY CENTER WHERE EVERY RESIDENT FEELS WELCOME, VALUED, AND CONNECTED. A Better Burnsville Requires Community These are the kinds of practical, achievable goals that residents are asking for—goals that build on Burnsville’s strengths and help move our city forward. But this vision isn’t mine alone, and I can’t achieve it by myself. That’s why I’m asking for your support. |
